Ensure your computer and mobile device are updated and patches are installed regularly/automatically if the software supports it.
Maintain an active and updated antivirus software program by scheduling regular scans of your computer in addition to the real-time scanning. Have in mind though, that antivirus cannot substitute common sense.
Install a firewall on your computer, to add another layer of protection when connected to the internet.
Require a password to login to your computer/device and prefer to power off the computer instead of using the sleep or hibernation modes.
Don't let someone you don't know have remote access to your computer.
Email Security
Be cautious when receiving suspicious emails, especially with attachments/links. These may redirect you to a different website than their labels indicate.
Ignore emails which request information such as account numbers, passwords, cards details, etc.
The bank never sends email to “confirm” your data, account numbers, passwords, etc.

If you receive an email or other electronic communication asking you to enter/confirm your BoC personal details, do not reply as it will be fraudulent.
Password Security
Keep your online banking credentials confidential.
Never leave them anywhere that someone else can obtain and use them.
Consider using a different unique password for each site you access, instead of reusing the same password for multiple sites.
Disable autocomplete and password storage features of the browser.
